5 Important Tips You Need to Know About LiftMaster Garage Door Openers

In today’s market, there are many competitive companies that offer garage door openers. LiftMaster is among those at the top of the list. They have products for garage doors and gates and provide several options to maintain power to the units and to control the units. They have partnered with Alarm.com systems and the Work With Nest Initiative. These partnerships enable them to provide products that allow users to control home systems such as lighting and even temperature control through smartphone technology.

When using a garage door remote opener, security features are a must. LiftMaster offers a wide range of features, including motion sensors that automatically stop the door from closing if anything moves underneath it. This is a must for homes with pets and small children. Other features include the Security+ 2.0, which sends a new code to your remote after every use. This ensures that no one else can use their remote to open your door. The patented Battery Backup system keeps your garage door working even if the power goes out.

All of the products by LiftMaster should be professionally installed by a trained professional. Don’t look at a garage door opener as a do-it-yourself job. Local dealers have installers on staff that will make sure the unit is properly installed and working correctly. They will also make sure that the buyer knows exactly how to use the product. Failure to have the door opener installed by a professional will void any warranty on the product.

Ease of Use

The days of the simple remote for your garage door opener are over. In the technologically advanced world of today, a simple remote just doesn’t cut it. Not to mention that the old remotes are far too easy to hack into. LiftMaster remotes are safe, secure, and have several features to make your life easier. Now your smartphone can be used to monitor and control your garage door opener, along with the lights in your home. It also offer mini remotes and visor remotes for your vehicles.

Door Weight and Size

Not all garage doors are created equal, so garage door openers cannot be. For basic garage doors for one-car stalls, just about any door opener will do. For larger, heavier, and reinforced doors, you must have an opener that is powerful enough to do the job. Many LiftMaster models feature the 3/4 HP AC Motor Belt System. This system features a steel-reinforced belt and a powerful motor to easily lift the heaviest doors, even in high winds. It is designed to do all of that and still be extremely quiet.

Garage door openers are mounted on a wall near the garage door or on the ceiling. The choice of these really depends on what a person does with their garage. For those that hang bikes and other things from the ceiling, or have a room that is lived in above the garage, a wall mount will work best. For those that have many things hanging from the walls of the garage, or just have curious children to like to touch and play with everything, a ceiling mount would probably work best.

LiftMaster provides a wide range of products to satisfy just about everyone. That is one reason that buyers must, at least, have a good idea of what their needs are before purchasing a system. Location, garage size, and even weather all play a part in the decision to choose the right model.

  1. No matter what kind of garage door or gate opener you get, you should probably be aware of what size you need as well as how it will work in your environment. I know that the guy installing your garage door will probably be aware of all of this, but it doesn’t hurt to do your homework. The most important thing is probably making sure, like you said, to get an opener that is rated for your size door. Weather etc won’t matter if your door won’t open.
